Films, cast and crew : Del Toro talks of his regret |
Posted by AndyM on 2006/11/14 7:52pm (UTC) (1220 reads) |
Spanish filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro tells of his regret at turning down Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. In the film magazine Empire he said that he turned down the chance to direct the Harry Potter film in favour of the sequel to the vampire film Blade II, as he thought it would be more fun to make.
However, he hasn't given up hope of filming one of the last two installments. "Its not out of principle that I turned down Potter. Maybe it looks that way from the outside, but from the inside that's what I felt I wanted to do. I stand by the fact that I was very attracted to the chance to make creepy looking vampires for many years."
