The Muggle's Guide is an unofficial fan site dedicated to the Harry Potter books written by J.K. Rowling. This site and its authors have no ties to J.K. Rowling or any of the publishing or film companies involved in the production of Harry Potter related material.

Our use of material found on this site
We acknowledge J.K RowlingÂ’s hard work and dedication to bring Harry Potter and his "world" to the masses. As a result, have no wish to infringe on any copyright laws, or generally "step on anyone's toes" with this web site. If you have any claims to potentially copyrighted material contained within this web site, please contact us by email in the first instance (with any relevant proof of copyright, as necessary) so we can either accredit you with your work, amend the material or remove it.

Many of the items entered into the database are definitions of characters, places, creatures, spells and many other things you can find in a Harry Potter book - many are creations of J.K. Rowling, some are drawn from real life and from mythology. Bearing this in mind, the definitions that you can find here are observations, and not a direct copy of work from any Harry Potter book, with the exception of short passages of quotes, which are always inserted in quote marks (under copyright law, reasonable use of quotes are allowed). The definitions for these items are formed from the research done by the authors of this site, and/or our visitors.

Use of material on this site
