Two new images have been released for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The first one shows Neville and Hermione being "detained" by Draco Malfoy and Crabbe in Umbridge's office (after their escape from the DA meeting in the room of requirement) and the other shows Ron, Ginny, Fred and George Weasley (believed to be in Dumbledore's office, being told about the attack on Mr Weasley).

Ten youths have been arrested in connection with vandalism that was carried to the train used as the Hogwarts Express in the Harry Potter films.

The damage included over 300 toughened glass windows, which were broken with special hammers kept on board for safety reasons.

Order of the Phoenix : Has too much been cut from OotP?
Posted by AndyM on 2007/04/05 9:10pm (UTC) (1021 reads)

Has too much been cut from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix? Reports have started circulating that many elements from the book have been dropped onto the cutting room floor.

Despite being the largest of the seven books, the producers report that the film runs for about two and a half hours, which could make it the shortest of the five films released so far.

Reported cuts:
The scenes reported to have been dropped include Gilderoy Lockhart’s, Rita Skeeter, Dobby (again), Ron’s step up the ladder in Quidditch (has his importance in the films been played down again?), Mrs Weasley’s boggart scene, and Neville’s parents in St. Mungo’s hospital.

The plot is supposed to remain intact, which either means there was a lot of padding in the book, or a lot has indeed been cut from the film. In any case, there’s three months to go and this may not be the final cut.
